Karaoke Killaz

The best way to get yourself killed in the Philippines is not to roam around back alleys, flash large amounts of cash, or pick a fight. Instead, it seems lately that the quickest way to meet Jesus is to sing "My Way"--badly--at karaoke night.

The New York Times has a really interesting article about this phenomenon, which has become an actual crime subcategory (the "'My Way' killings") with Filipino authorities. They're not sure exactly how many victims have been offed after singing the Frank Sinatra song, but they've confirmed at least six in the past decade, which mostly occurring after the singer was heckled for being out of tune.

I won't rehash the whole article since you can read it for yourself, but another notable example of karaoke violence is the Thai man who murdered eight of his neighbors after they performed John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads".
