Fair Enough

Ria Ramikissoon stands accused of first degree murder in the death of her young son, whom she and fellow cult members starved to death after their leader declared him a demon when he would not say "amen" at mealtime prayers. The leader, known as Queen Antoinette, and some other members of the group, One Mind Ministries, also stand accused. (Here's the link, but needless to say, it's one horrible story.)

Ramikissoon's mother notified police that her grandson was missing when she visited New York City in 2008, looking for her wayward daughter. Ramikissoon will likely receive a 20-year sentence in August--not enough, I know, though I feel that Queen Antoinette should be handed a far stiffer penalty.

But lest we should all be mistaken, the court has humored the young mother with one unusual clause: if her son is, indeed, resurrected from the dead, all charges will be dropped.

Fair enough. Meanwhile, enjoy your stay prison, and next time, try to think for yourself.
