Focus on the Family has done it again. How this organization manages to keep its tax-exempt status remains a mystery, but to follow their August video encouraging viewers to pray for a deluge during Obama's DNC speech, they have published a fictional letter--and this reeks of Kirk Cameron--written from the future, sadly describing how America went straight to hell after Obama was elected in 2008.
The 14-page letter begins with a half-assed disclaimer that "This letter is not 'predicting' that all of the imaginative future 'events' named in this letter will happen. But it is saying thta each one of these changes could happen" based on trends, promises, and Obama's actions. The number of times that the author tells on himself for being a bigot is somewhere in the thousands.
I hope you'll take the time to read the entire letter, which is dated October 2012 and begins with "Dear friends, I can hardly sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" anymore...I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat."
Among the cataclysmic "events" listed in the letter:
Supreme Court Justices Ginsburg, Stevens, Kennedy, and Scalia resign and are replaced with Obama's "far-Left, American Civil Liberties Union-oriented judges", thus giving the far-Left control of the Court and enabling them to "enact the entire agenda of the far Left in American politics". Chaos ensues.
Same sex marriage has become fully legal, thanks to aforementioned Supreme Court, and Obama and his cohorts begin doing some serious lovin' on the gays. The Boy Scouts disband because they don't want homosexual scoutmasters (Obama's making them hire them) and can't find a place to have meetings, because Obama had the nerve--the NERVE--to sign an expansion of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect homosexuals' human rights. Don't you forget it: gay men are automatic kid-touchers.
Elementary schools, both public and private, have to teach "varieties of gender identity", beginning in first grade. Christian teachers flee in droves and Christian schools close down.
Christian adoption agencies close rather than place children with homosexual couples, which Obama and the liberal Court are making them do. They'd rather have the children rot in the foster system. In turn, God-fearing couples can't adopt because they're too narrow-minded. Doctors who refuse to provide artificial insemination for lesbian couples lose their licenses.
Churches who decline to hire homosexual support staff members have their tax-exempt status revoked. (Is this what will finally cause Focus on the Family to lose its tax-exempt status?) Churches also are not allowed to refuse that their buildings be used for gay weddings.
Gays are now allowed in the military. "All new recruits, and all active-duty and reserve personnel, are compelled to take many hours of “sensitivity training” to ensure they demonstrate positive attitudes toward those with different sexual orientations and practices. Any one who seems hesitant or who objects is routinely passed over for promotion." (It's really for being a huge bigot, but that's neither here nor there. In the words of liberal Jew Lewis Black, "We need boots on the ground. And if those boots happen to be Prada, fabulous!")
Schools and college campuses are no longer allowed to host student ministries. Campus Crusade for Christ, See You at the Pole meetings, and similar events and organizations are prohibited from meeting in any public place--schools, parks, or otherwise--and have mostly ceased to exist. (This is especially close to my heart, as I enjoyed many free lunches at the Baptist and Methodist Student Unions during my college years. Obama, being a wealthy liberal elitist, apparently does not hold the same appreciation I have for a complimentary plate of spaghetti.)
Porn is simply everywhere. Now, when you stop into the 7-Eleven to buy a pack of smokes or some Passion Fruit Bartles and James, you not only have to watch for your Sunday School classmates, but you have to keep your kids away from the titty magazines, prominently displayed on a huge rack (no pun intended) with flashing lights all around. Inconvenient.
No private citizen can own a gun. Obama personally came and pried them from the dead, lifeless grip of all Americans. Again, chaos ensues. "Inner-city violent crime has increased dramatically."
Iraq has descended into (further) bedlam. Obama refused to grow a pair and "stay the course", and pulled the last of the American troops from Iraq in April 2010. "Al-Qaida operatives from Syria and Iran poured into Iraq and completely overwhelmed the Iraqi security forces."
"President Obama directed U.S. intelligence services to cease all wiretapping of alleged terrorist phone calls unless they first obtained a warrant for each case. Terrorists captured overseas, instead of being tried in military tribunals, are given full trials in the U.S. court system, and they have to be allowed access to a number of government secrets to prepare their defense." (What a pair of cojones Obama must have to insist that intelligence services follow the LAW. And I'm sorry--"government secrets"? What's this? I think I might have an inkling who started the e-mail rumors about Obama being a Muslim terrorist.)
Healthcare is free for everyone. That's good, right? WRONG. Now everyone think's they're entitled to it, even the undesirables of our society, including--ick--poor people. "Now that health care is free, it seems everybody wants more of it. The waiting list for prostate cancer surgery is 3 years. The waiting list for ovarian cancer is 2 years." (Somehow it worked in the UK, Canada, and a multitude of other countries, but in the US, unless we're being gouged for it, it ain't for us.)
Old folks become Soylent Green! "Because medical resources must be rationed carefully by the government, people older than 80 have essentially no access to hospitals or surgical procedures. Their 'duty' is increasingly thought to be to go home to die, so they don’t drain scarce resources from the medical system. Euthanasia is becoming more and more common." (I think this is the real reason John McCain ran for president in 2008. He knew his days were numbered.)
Taxes have gone up, the budget deficit has increased, and workers have started getting the crazy idea that they can unionize, driving up prices on goods. This all happened because Obama did some serious fibbin' in his campaign. Turns out, he didn't give a damn about the poor or middle class after all. You know, being an elitist and all.
The über-liberal Supreme Court is all bleeding-heart about the environment. "Gas costs more than $7 per gallon, and many Democrats openly applaud this, since high prices reduce oil consumption and thus reduce carbon dioxide output. But working Americans are hit hard by these costs." (Democrats, if you're wondering, are not working Americans. They're government leeches, draining the pockets of hardworking Republicans.)
The FCC has adopted the "Fairness Doctrine", which means that "all radio stations have to provide equal time to contrasting views for every political or policy-related program they broadcast by talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh...Sean Hannity..., and Dr. James Dobson. Every conservative talk show is followed by an instant rebuttal to the program by a liberal 'watchdog' group." (The only real difference between 2012 and 2008 is that instead of listeners thinking to themselves what a douchebag Limbaugh is, there will be a 'liberal watchdog' on the radio saying it aloud.)
Christian booksellers and publishers went out of business because the gay community, buoyed by their newfound ability to marry legally, lit their torches and stormed Barnes & Noble, demanding that "hate-mongering" books discussing Biblical principles and denouncing homosexuality be removed from the shelves. The same occurred at Borders and other booksellers, until there are no more Christian books out there. Oh, by the way, "they staged a massive nationwide computer attack on Amazon.com, with the same demands, and the same result." (Now they know how Harry Potter felt.)
Obama's Justice Department filed criminal charges against Bush administration officials. By the end of it, "dozens of Bush officials, from the Cabinet level on down, are in jail, and most of them are also bankrupt from legal costs." (Waaaah! Better late than never, right?)
You know, I love Jesus, but his fan club is getting way out of hand.

I'm part of the fan club. And I thought your post was witty and quite readable.
Well done.
Actually, opposition to Obama has less to do with Christianity than with other values.
I'm a Christian as well. Let me make that clear for those of you who do not know me "in real life". I'm just tired of Christianity being shamed and embarassed by the likes of these guys.
By the way, check out Burr Deming's site, Fair and Unbalanced. He has some nice opinion pieces.
