But Who's Counting?

Two nonprofit journalism groups have released a study that reports that the Bush administration has lied 935 times to justify the war in Iraq, nearly a third of them by the president himself. You know, the war that costs taxpayers around $200 billion a year. And about 4000 soldiers' lives. And the lives of about 700,000 Iraqis.

If you google the word "lies", bushwatch.com is the #2 search result.

I don't know about you, but I'm so happy that we have decent Christian folks running our country.

The following is from a year-old infographic in the New York Times, but it is still perfectly relevant:
Annual cost of Iraq war: $200 billion
Annual cost of universal healthcare for all those in the US without it: $100 billion
Annual cost of universal preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds: $35 billion
Annual cost of carrying out the 9/11 Commission's recommendations: $10 billion
Annual budget for cancer research: $6 billion
Annual cost of immunizations for the WORLD'S children against measles, whooping cough, tetanus, tuberculosis, polio, and diptheria: $0.6 billion
